This conceptual wine label series was inspired by the radiant work of Spanish painter Joaquín Sorolla, renowned for his luminous brushstrokes and ability to capture the emotional warmth of sunlit scenes. I sought to translate Sorolla’s expressive use of color and light into a packaging experience that felt equally vibrant, emotive, and artful.
This project received an honorable mention for graphic design in the Ritz Gallery Student show (2025) and is held in the gallery from April to August 2025
Each bottle in the series draws direct visual inspiration from one of Sorolla’s paintings, with a custom color palette and design tailored to reflect the tone and subject of the original work. To preserve the integrity of Sorolla’s color palette and ensure visual cohesion across the brand, the logo itself is a cutout taken directly from the featured painting, revealing the wine inside the bottle. This technique allows the logo to remain consistent across the collection without overpowering the artwork—serving as both a visual signature and a subtle design element.
To further root the brand in Sorolla’s heritage, I included a map of Spain on each label—highlighting the artist’s origins and inviting consumers to connect with the cultural source of both the wine and the art.
A standout feature of each label is a dehydrated watercolor palette inspired by the artwork on the bottle, encouraging consumers to create their own masterpiece. This interactive detail reinforces the brand’s mission of celebrating creativity.
Honoring Sorolla’s early start in the arts—he began painting at age 13—the brand also pledges to donate 13% of profits to a children’s art charity in Spain, supporting access to arts education and empowering the next generation of artists.

The collection includes 34 labels—17 in English and 17 in Spanish—to reflect both Sorolla’s cultural heritage and the international nature of wine. This project brought together storytelling, cultural reverence, and interactive design to create a concept rooted in beauty, purpose, and artful experience.
